when I was little kid years ago in Iraq I was the student number one in English subject ,my classmates envied me for this talent as well as myself ! .Years later I was student number one in the high school with excellent degree in English .I though at that time I will somebody in the future since I was successful in my educational life ! .The story began when my high scores failed to hit high colleges ,I hit nothing instead ,indeed I was forced to join army in the late 80s of the past century where all my dreams fellapart ,to compensate for this lost I used to take Arabic-English dictionary with me to forget that I became failure since I was so good in English! .Years past after that the chance loomed over the horizon of my sunken dreams , the goverment decided to give us a chance to join the college again and indeed I left the army and joined the college -English department! it seems good so far.The ebargo on Iraq at the 90s hit hard on the economy and the poeple suffered alot ,among them me offcourse ! any way I finished my study and became another number added to the unemployment figures the exceeded the abnormality …. years later , THE Iraq freedom operation began and the English talking people came to Iraq ,I thought this is like a miracle I can now speak English with native speakers ,I can now improve my English at the same time I can work as Translator !as time was passing new concepts were emerging people began to look at the translators as traitors ,I began to realize the danger I put myself in even the company I worked for had no compensation for the translators who got killed I felt with bitterness that no one neither my people nor the English talking people appreciate the role we played as translators to converge the ideas and improvement of communication between different peoples, cultures ,conceptions and attitudes .The result I CONCLUDED is to paint my self with stealth paint to disappear from the eyes may be the world will miss us and would feel pity for this poor creature named ” translatorrrrr”.
